Rilo Kiley-A Better Son/Daugher

Sometimes in the morning I am petrified and can't move

Awake, but cannot open my eyes.
And the weight is crushing down on my lungs,
I know I can't breathe
And hope someone will save me this time.
And your mother's still calling you insane and high
Swearing it's different this time
And you tell her to give in to the demons that possess her
And that god never blessed her insides
Then you hang up the phone
And feel badly for upsetting things
Crawl back in to bed to dream of a time
When your heart was open wide
And you loved things just because
Like the sick and the dying.

And sometimes when you're on
You're really fucking on
And your friends they sing along and they love you.
But the lows are so extreme
That the good seems fucking cheap
And it teases you for weeks in its absence.

But you'll fight and you'll make it through
You'll fake it if you have to
And you'll show up to work with a smile.
You'll be better and you'll be smarter
And more grown up and a better daughter or son
And a real good friend.
And you'll be awake, you'll be alert
You'll be positive though it hurts
And you'll laugh and embrace all your friends
And you'll be a real good listener
You'll be honest, you'll be brave
You'll be handsome and you'll be beautiful.

You'll be happy.

Your ship may be coming in
You're weak but not giving in
To the cries and the wails of the valley below
And your ship may be coming in
You're weak but not giving in
And you'll fight it, you'll go out fighting all of them.

Rules of My Life: Version 1.0

So, some people (namely Kevin, Tyler, and a little bit Dallas) were getting uppity about some things that I do. Now you have no grounds, kidlets. There are legit rules in place, and you can not break them.

1. Most importantly: I can totally declare things in my life non-canon. Don't argue. It is a rule.

2. Dallas cannot flirt with my friends/cousins. I srsly will hurt you Dallas.

3. If I decide we are no longer friends, you cannot friggin' argue with me. Hullo.

4. If I decide we are friends, don't argue. We are now friends.

5. Probably nobody should make a big deal when I come home with found animals?

6. I can be in two places at once.

7. I do not need a reason to be mad at you. I do not care if you think I am irrational; if I am mad at you, you are in the wrong.

8. I have every right to switch my mind about every single thing. 'Paradigm shifts' are totes acceptable.

9. If I am mad at you one minute, that does not necessarily mean I will be mad at you the next. Or vice versa.

10. I can absolutely make up rules for my life.

To be continued.

Here's the News!

So! This one time!

I had an adventure of sorts today! Of all sorts!
Also: exclamation points?!?!?!

This morning at 6 I woke up. And took a shower. It was reeeeaaaaaallllllyyyy cold.
Then, I drove for a while, to wait at a "Park 'n Ride"? I believe? For half an hour. It was creepy, man! On top of the creeps I saw some terrible people - they were there, at that time, in the morning. Why? To play GOLF.
Now, I've never played golf, so I don't know much about it. But I DO know that no game can be fun enough to warrant waking up that early to play it. So, I've come to the obvious conclusion. They were definitely communists spies.
Then, some boring stuff happened. And then we were at the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market! Guys! It was crazy! Why am I so enthusiastic!? I don't know! I haven't slept in like two days?
So, we (meaning Cecily, Nate and myself) did a once around. In the midst of this some crazy guy accosted us, telling us all about his mirrors that he made. He went on for like, half an hour. It was really weird.  He was like...a coked out Monson.
We chatted with a bunch of neat people, tried some delicious things. It was rad. After that we jaunted on over to this mega-awesome restaurant called Pago. They use only local farm's produce and whatnot. Their food is basically an explosion of flavor in  your mouth.  Honestly, one of the best places I've eaten. We had the cutest server as well! His name's David and he has a psych and something else major. I don't really remember. Sleep is important for proper brain function children, remember. He was really amusing, and adorable.
We talked to Scott the manager of the place-he gave us complete access. It was quite nice of him, and everyone there put up with us messing around their kitchen. We talked to one of their food suppliers, and they pointed us in the direction of the community garden, where we spent a little while just snapping some photos.
Basically, today was the bees knees.
